No IANA assignment and no documented service; another round number picked by hand.
50500 is in the Dynamic/Private range, outside IANA registration, and Nmap's service database has no name for it. Like 49999 and 50000, its appeal is that it is easy to remember, so it turns up as an operator-chosen port for internal APIs, test listeners, and forwarded services. The number carries no protocol information at all.
Expose with care
Hand-picked high ports are frequently used for things that were never meant to be reachable; confirm what it is and whether it authenticates.
